Hi everyone,

My Polo is lowered on only lowering springs. Over some bumps and undulations the car is very bouncy and sometimes scrapes with a passenger in the front.

I'm wondering if I could get some higher viscosity fluid for the shocks to see if this would give the overall effect of a "coilover" and hopefully stiffen the suspension up.

Has anyone done this on a 2F? and which fluid did you use? I will be taking it to a garage to get this done as I don't want to mess it up myself.

How old are the shock absorbers?

 

Article on doing this in general. Does not sound worthwhile given garage labour cost if the strut can even be refilled...

Those gas ones look great!

If my thinking is right then it would effectively be a coilover paired with my lowering springs? 

My springs are ST ones so there shouldn't be a problem with them not fitting with the new shocks.
