Wiring MK2 ignition in a Gt

Featured Replies

Prefacing this query by acknowledging the vast amount of bike carb questions on the forum already... However it appears that the FAQ for the conversion guide has had a chunk of content removed and I'm struggling to find the info I need.

So , basically got a mk2f GT , cbr600 carbs fitted with a MK2 ignition loom and MK2 ignition distributor and coil.

I have 2 connections on the coil at the moment a green negative and a black positive, the hall sender wired run to the TCI/amp.

Can anyone help with how I connect the ignition loom to the car for the rev counter and getting power to the coil on a switched live

***Edit** - for anyone with the same issue in the future , switched live can be found on the 3 pin plug beside where old coil was (me being a daftyy didn't spot in until now )

  • Rev counter connection would be a red wire with black stripe on mk2, usually on coil negative.
