Can someone confirm something for me.

I'm out of ground,chassi and battery ground on my crankshaft position sensor. And by the schematics it needs one. Also apparently it also goes to the instrument cluster which I'm also lacking.

The color of the wire is yellow and brown, it's pin nr 3 on the plug that goes to the sensor and pin 67 on ECU. Can someone confirm that I need ground on this wire?

Hi Strobe , Depent to your last posts i can see we have a same malfunciton in our positions sensors. Im %100 ready to help you. If you can add some picture here, i can upload mine one. May be we can make 1 working polo with 2 broken ones.

Ive been struggling with this problem for a while now. I've replaced speed sensor, crankshaft position sensor and camshaft timing sensor. Yesterday I noticed the lack of ground. So I placed a ground, tested it and same problem.

 

I'm betting it's ecu problem.

What do you need?

Did you try to replace rear main seal (RMS).

If that's the seal of the pinion that the crankshaft sensor reads. You saying that I could be leaking oil and messing with the sensor? I've seen the tooth the sensor reads, I'ts all clean

took out the starter motor and the crankshaft position sensor. You them can see the pinion
