ABU spi inlet - adapting for Weber twin choke

Featured Replies

Having a go at fitting a Weber DMTL to a Spi inlet for a 55kW Golf 1.6 onto a MK2 Polo.

Engine side bolt pattern and spacing matches.

While not quite GK runner dimensions, it should flow well.

Think I can grind and JBWeld to fit an adapter plate.. instead of the Pierburg 4*3*4 holes.

Anyone wanna see pictures?

do I need to pay to up my attachment space?

Or can I somehow easily download the 17 pages of listed pictures from all the years I have been a member, before I delete them?

The Pierburg to DMTL adaptor is a Weber 99900.896AP. About £100. Or £15 less without the studs, one of which is custom sized.

The Pierburg Carb flange for GK is a 052129765C (febi 02367) About £40. Or Original Imperium 32304. About £45 and more restricted, but with an extra threaded insert for something.

How did you get on? I like the idea of this simpicity of the Weber

Have you looked at 123 Tune bluetooth mappable distributors too? Only problem is horizontal mounted they can fill up with oil

The intake manifold is much harder and thicker alloy than I expected.

Paused until I can borrow a plasma cutter.

Not looked at 123 Tune.

I'm using Aldon Amethyst which is triggered off the GK's Hall Sender and uses MAP sensor. This was critical for twin carbs which have lower vacuum than a single progressive carb
