Hi everyone! I've recently bought my first Polo, it's a 6R 5 door 1.2 TDi 2011. Theres a few niggly bits I have been able to sort but main issue remaining issue I have is the drivers side window does not work. All other windows work from the switch on the driver's door except the drivers window. I have replaced all the fuses I can find that related to the windows or electrics in the driver's door. I have also replaced the switch unit which has made no difference, i.e. all other windows still work except drivers. We have looked at the wires which all looked fine in the door and in the rubber boot connecting it to the body of the car. The regulator itself looks okay but I haven't yet taken it out of the door to get a closer look. The main concern is that the motor isn't even trying to work, using the drivers side switch makes no noises or clicking at all. I spoke to the previous owner and she said it just suddenly stopped working with the switch but would work on the keys for a while but then also suddenly stopped working on the keys too. It was initially whistling when doing any speed over 40mph but I have since been able to push it up to be fully closed. I figure the next thing to do is try changing the motor itself but wanted to see if anyone can give any more advice based on what we've tried already? Any help would be greatly appreciated! 

Motor module or corroded connections to it, I reckon.

Quite likely the latter, so better to carefully inspect plug and socket at module before grabbing a replacement. 

UPDATE: I couldn't see any issues with wiring or connectors so in the end I disconnected and unplugged the passenger side motor, connected it to the electrical plug only i.e. not attached to the regulator and tested it, this worked, i.e. The passenger motor ran with the electric connection from the drivers side so I knew it was the motor. I got a 2nd hand replacement which seems to be working fine so happy to have a working window.

Only little niggle if that I can only close the window using the auto (second click) function the switch, the first click manual function doesn't seem to be working. Would this be because of the switch unit itself does anyone know?
