How do I remove the bulb holder for my headlight?

Featured Replies

I feel like this should be a really easy thing, but the connection for the dipper headlight bulb on my car is nothing like any of the videos I've seen and I can't figure it out.

I've attached some photos which will probably be better than any description I make.

I found this ebay link to the bulb holder and it looks like the entire black connection and metal case should all come off somehow, but I've been trying for ages and don't want to do something that ends up breaking it.   Any ideas?

Also, it says I need a H7 (477 / 499) bulb.  I have a H7 (477) bulb, but it looks a bit bigger than the one that's already in there.  Do they come in different sizes and do you know if I'll be ok to use it, or should I just give it a go?

Thanks so much

Got it out, managed to wrench it out with the aid of a couple of screwdrivers wedged between the base.  Literally couldn't budge it otherwise!
