6c gti oil tem.

Featured Replies

Hi, this is my first post!

I have two questions and I would appreciate ANY kind of answers.

I just got me a Polo Gti 6c and Im wondering is it normal for the oil temperature to be around 95-97C when driving normally? I havent driven the car fast yet, my guess is the temperature is going to be way over 100. I just sold my Ford Puma ST and the oil temperature on that was around 84-85C. And around 91-95 when pushed harder.

My second question is about the drivers side seat heater. When I push the button both lamps lights up for half a second and then it turns off and wont come on again until i restart the car, then same thing again. it powers on for 0.5 sec then it goes out.

Anyone had this same problem or know what it could be?

Assuming there's enough oil of correct spec and the filter bypass valve has not opened as filter clogged since not changed at last service...

Synthetic oil can easily take over 120°C.

There's a 113°C secondary thermostat as far as I can tell

I'd be more worried about oil pressure than temperature.

For comparison a VW 1.2 TSi has 93°C oil at steady motorway 110kmh around 2400rpm so turbo lightly active.
