A 6n 16v on a 99 plate I am hoping to purchase needs a new throttle body as it’s running lumpy for the first 10/15 seconds. The new owner has fitted a new throttle body and went to his friends to use VAGCOM to reset this, but the software only worked on 2001 vehicles and later therefore has fitted the old throttle body as the new one hunts / rev hang issue (which is worse than lumpy for 10 seconds).

I’ve contacted my friend who’s got a garage to see if he could do this for me and has appropriate software and I am just waiting for a response.

If he doesn’t, how common is it for local garages to have this software for a 1999 polo or will I struggle to find one?
