And lately the fuel consumption has been getting worse and couldnt point out whats the probleme my assumption is the air mass fuel sensor but i am not sure

If no error codes present, Air filter clean and spark plugs/coils in good order - I'd start with OBD live data.

Confirm how fast the oxygen sensor value is changing (I like to see no more than a second between the min and max readings). Oxygen sensors get tired, especially if the original was swapped for an aftermarket a few years ago.

Does the car drive very differently with the MAF disconnected?
