2012 Polo Strange Boot Lid Issues….

Featured Replies

Evening all, whilst working through the issues with my sons 2012 Polo, one of the issues is an intermittent (became constant) boot switch/latch thing.

I have a lock mechanism in stock so I brought that home to swap it out and hopefully sort the problem, however it’s never that simple is it.

So I’ll give the short story, a load of messing about about has made me realise that when the Brown multi plug is connected, the system works perfectly, as soon as I connect the black, it becomes into again and the boot latch won’t work. This is still the case if I disconnect the plug from the wiper motor.

What do you think would cause this? Time is against me with most jobs so if I can gain some insight I’d be very much appreciative

Well, I managed to fix it, not entirely sure how!

I could not get sensible readings with a multimeter, it kept changing

Eventually I stripped out the insulation to the cable between the boot hatch and the body, although I could not actually find the issue, I seek to have sorted it.
