Polo 9n Remote Central Locking With 1 Key

Featured Replies

Hi, new here to the forums and cars in general so apologies if I mess stuff up.

I have a 2005 1.2 polo 9n that I am keen to add remote locking to, I only have the secondary key as it was sold as such.

From what I have found online this seems to be a somewhat straightforward process as long as you are not adding any more keys than what the car came with, and you actually have both keys it came with.

I think the process I need to follow is as such:

(1)Have the new flip key cut to match

(2)Move transponder from original key to new flip key

(3)Replace CCM from 6Q0959433H to 6Q0959433E (5 door)

(4)Programme key to the CCM while sat in the car, like so: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=93_R6bMTnQA

As I only have 1 key to the car to begin with, and most of the methods online are utilising the transponder out of the spare key as the donor transponder for the new key, while the primary key goes in the ignition to turn the electrics on. I think I'm gonna have to go about it this way instead.

I think it should work as providing the new key blade is the same as my old one, and that I take the transponder from the old and replace the new one. the new key should be identical to the old key as far as the car is concerned.

As for pairing the new key's remote features to the CCM. Providing that the YouTube video above works on my 9n, I believe that's all I need to do to have remote central locking.

If I have missed anything any and all advice would be much appreciated, thanks.

That video you posted isn't how I paired my key to my remote locking upgraded 9n3. So I can't confirm if your method will work.

I'd recommend that you not sacrifice your key for its immobiliser chip as most lock cutting shops can just copy the code when cutting a new key, which you'll have to do regardless, for your new key to work.

To pair your new key, you need to turn on the car (with another key), lock the doors, and put the driver's side window fully down. From there, lock the car with the new key from the outside using the driver's door lock and press the lock button on the key. You should hear a click from the ccm, and it will be paired. Thats a video of my 9n3's remote locking in action
