My 1200 tdi 2011 Turbo has seized. Can anyone recommend anywhere who sell recon units with garkets and possibly oil feeder pipes?

Featured Replies

Hi all, I am new to this forum, so hello all!

I have never owned a VW before but I purchased a VW Polo 1200 TDI which turned out to need a lot of work. The latest (and last thing I hope!), is that the turbo has ceased (oil starvation perhaps?). It has the P2563 error and I replaced the MAP sensor, but mobile mechanic took the pipe off and said it is not freely rotating inside and believes it is dead.

So I am looking for a good 2nd hand or recon unit from reputable company with fuel feed pipes and the necessary gaskets and possibly someone local who can fit it if possible!?

Can anyone advise me where or who can help with this? I am quite near Cardiff in S Wales.

Many thanks in advance.

Chris

I think the most important thing is that the new unit comes with a guarantee. It may be the case that you can't get one properly refurbed, and that like refurb power steering racks they are only expected to last a year. If you want yours properly refurbed and balanced you will have to remove it yourself and take it to a specialist, a garage won't do it. I avoid forced induction for this very reason, reliability only comes at great expense, and refurb turbos are sometimes shoddy.

You'll need to get some details off it, model number etc. Autodoc are a company on the continent i use for parts, they've always been reliable and have OEM quality brands listed aswell as cheap stuff. If you source your own turbo, any garage will fit it for you.
