OBD2 port not connecting to my scanner (tried two different scanners)

Scanners power up when plugged into the port, but scanners can't connect to car/ecu ?

Any advice ?

I've found universal scanners can be a bit hit and miss on 6n2's and sometimes 9n's. What sort of scanner are you using?
