That is probably a plastic cog worn or stuck. Might need a specialist to repair it.

They look to be near the speedometer.

Oh, maybe for the Formel E early start stop system SSA?

Do you have a clock or a rev counter?

There is an oil pressure sensor buzzer (J114) that is only enabled when engine warm and revs over 2000rpm, as well as the usual low pressure sensor. Pretty sure that is a hard plug and socket inside the clocks case though.

Thanks for your reply.

I don't have a formel E but I did and you probably solved why about 30 years ago I was left by the car few times, perhaps bwacause of that system 😁

Unfortunately I have the clock and not the rpm gauge which I am desperately finding

Should I be opening the clock enclosure to find a place for the connector?

By the way, I was trying to fix the Tacho. I have speed but no km counter.. 😔

No nothing to connect to. It's a modular design by VDO.

Only the Formel E uses those connectors.

(similar on Golf with multi function display of MPG or l/100km)

Km counter is mechanical. Think it is a worm drive with a ratchet so can't be wound backwards.

Does the trip counter move?

It s the trip counter which doesn't move as well as the odometer. Only the speed works

So a second hand one might work for you, if you can find one, and if you don't care about the change in odometer reading.

Nobody cares if it increases it seems, maybe insurance company if you have agreed a per year limit. I think I added 7000 miles in one afternoon.

Bang! It was the metal gear. The hole was too wide, exactly as stated in the video

I did the procedure and now it works.

While I was there, I swapped a pair of led, the factory lamps was stuck

I am wondering why the factory headlight switch has lamp but they add a lamp on the frame

I also installed a 4 light grill, the factory foglight switch and made a custom install, the 12v come directly from the battery.

I plan to have also the headlight draining directly, it increases the Volts and make a brighter light

Well done.

Is it a headlamp switch glow lamp to find the switch in the darkness with engine running?

Or maybe the loom designed for Audi 50 with headlight on confirmation lamp in dash?

Well, in the meanwhile i checked some scheme.. it seems , as you say, one light to find the switch one to see it's on.

The bulb in the switch not working, and not easy to find.. it's a HELLA 8GA 007 997-241

Wondering why they didnt use a bulb on the center of the panel, there are plenty of..

Still huntung for a tachometer: Golf MK1 (which seems to be the same) and Polo mk2 are at very high price
