Wing mirror fitting issues

Featured Replies

Evening all,

My current money pit is missing a wing mirror...

I bought a replacement however I am having issues fitting it...

I know how it fits, however, there doesn't seem to be any thread inside the pegs that come through the door so the bolts won't secure.

Anyone had these issues before or can point me in the right direction,

Please and thanks in advance

What year's the car?

Did you buy a new or secondhand mirror? Genuine or pattern?

Its a '89 mk2 breadvan.

New, im guessing pattern not genuine as they were about £25 each from autodoc

Yeah, sounds like it's a bad pattern. Not a fan of autodoc myself, they always seem to take ages to send me something that looks a bit like what I've ordered. They might mean you to put it on with self-tappers, but I'd say there's a fair risk of cracking the plastic in that case.
