I've got a 1998 6K Polo Estate with central locking, and a (rotten) 2004 Mk2 Caddy with remote central locking.

If I wanted to change the Estate to remote locking, what bits do I need off the Caddy? Am I right in thinking the receiver's on the central locking pump?

what type of key does the 6k have, and what type of keys does the caddy have. whats the remote on the caddy looks like? flipkey or what?

It's a little bit difficult to say, because the estate has a different key for every lock, but I think it's supposed to have HAA keys.

The caddy is a fixed key with push buttons, it's not this key (it's in the van at the workshop), but it's like it, so probably HAA again.

Is that rotten 2004 Mk2 Caddy the white GJ...RV which u had at the ps 2017?

If so, they do have the same base, i mean both 6k/6kv are the same, which means same locks in the doorhandles and same ignitionlock in the steeringcolumnhousing, just different lock for the boot/reardoor and the gloveboxes in case they do have locks too.
So you could just swap the locks and take the immo transponders out of the 6k keys and place them in the seat keys.

The key you have shown, you have to split it, i mean there is
1st the mechanical part, the keys with the locks, would be the easy way to swap them 1:1 into the 6K Estate, and 2nd the remote part which we have to find out how it works.

When you pull out the remote part from the keypart, can you read somewhere "siemens" or "hella"?

and maybe a 433,92 MHz or a 434,42MHz, to find out the generation.

Does the caddy also has that pneumatic system or a motor system?, do you know that?

Anyway, there must be a stand-alone-receiver, also siemens or hella which is connected with the cars wireloom, i would need the partnumber to say more.

Could you explore that and make some pictures?

Cheers Christian. No, FRV lives on, it's just been used off road for a few years. FRV is a base spec 2002 Seat Inca though, no central locking or electric anything. Love that little van, so maybe it will go back into regular use one day. The estate is actually a Cordoba Vario, but it's almost entirely a Polo Estate apart from some plastics.

The rotten VW Caddy one of the last of that shape, so they threw everything at it (electric windows, electric mirrors, remote central locking, cassette player... doesn't sound much, but that's as much "everything" as mk2 caddy's had).

Both the caddy and the estate have the air powered locks, so I'm trying to figure out where the receiver would be on the Caddy, whether it's stand alone or built into the air pump., and if the pumps are the same/interchangeable. The lock barrels are interchangeable, so I might use all the ones off the caddy, or repin them to the Cordoba's ignition key, plenty of options there.

I will pull the caddy's key apart next time I'm at the workshop.

As i said thats OEM+ Tuning, you can do so many things with pats from other VAG Cars.

I did this back in 2012, its the same, moms 1997 6N1 hat the old AH keys, but the HAA locks from newer polos fits perfetly 1:1.
