Fox Hatch

Featured Replies

When I bought it, it was a stock (pretty faded) 1.0L hatch besides the late spec GT interior. Headgasket had gone so had to fix that first.

After the headgasket was done, I fitted (well, my mate fitted cause it took some fucking effort!) my new steering wheel. Utter bastard to drive with, cuts your hand, fingers get caught in it, get so hot when its sunny, makes your hands sweaty and it slips out of your hands, parking (not happening!), but it only has one redeeming factor, which for me. Is the only one I need. It looks pimp!

All the clips for the bumper were broken, the panel behind the bumper was bent aswell so both those came off and were replaced with new ones. Also took the wing off and smoothed the repeater hole. Although it was just a practice cause the wing is pretty rotten at the bottom.

Then I lowered the back end and give it a clean so it came up red not pink!

After that I set about tidying up the engine bay. Its mostly done just got some finishing touches to put on it. Rocker cover needs changing. Was tempted to do a chrome/polished one but it will look out of place in a shiney red and black bay so just tryin to find a good condition black one. Might paint the washer bottle red, but I've got a feeling it might be over kill. Got once spare to play about with tho.

Then, I spent alot of arse ache fitting the front suspension but lost the top mounts, couldn't find them for shit. Due to them being camber and castor adjustable it sent the wheels about 45degrees into the arch. Not fun, not fun at all! Sat nicely though. Would have looked pimp with some nice wheels.

Drove about 2 miles down the road and managed to do this:

Was tempted to see how well my compos would fit onto the car. Hmm, bit wide.

Got a couple of blanks made up for the mirrors. Loved them cause they look so OEM.

Have you used the cup car suspension you had for sale a while ago? It looks low and that camber is nuts.

Oh, I love the balloons you found for the wheels. ;)

Yeah I have. The tyres are stock.

Wheels/tyres are stock. No point in changing tyres if I'm only gonna change the wheels aswell.

Nice work so far. Could this be Ratty Hatchy 2?

Karl.

i want those wheels, and i want that steerin wheel,

i think you should give them to me..........now

Hell no! The compomotive splits are the daddies!

It will be a novel car, but not an all out I don't give a funk car like hanratty the hatchy was.

Thats the shizznits!

Love the wheel, uber pimp. As for the damage to the exhaust....speed bump was it?

Recon you might get away with the compos fitted you know.

They need spacers I think. Cause even without lowering it down on the jack the wheel rubbed against the shocker/spring.

Novel use for random badge. Wonder how long before it comes off / gets stolen

Better centre cap for my steering wheel. Although I am going to make a metal one and engrave it with some kind of logo.
