Got stopped by police and DVLA i have done well to avoid them whilst going to work but this time they were outside my work so couldn't get out of it

For a bald tyre, the copper said i should of had 9 but thats bullshit as all rest were fine

So theres me gutted about the points

it will affect insurance at renewal but i dont think it will affect it now.

have a read of your terms and conditions on weather you have to declair points when you get them or at renewal.

Shit ain't it Dougy, i got done for exactly the same thing a few months back. Was annoying cos it was week before pay day and i was getting new tyres when i had the money!!!! as for insurance it didnt do anything to mine, i rang up and told them and they said "Thanks for telling us" and that was it. Renewal came through last month and it wasn't any more than i had been quoted without the points. I wouldn't worry about it

should at least give you a chance though to change them

if you have a full size spare you could of put that on and they cant do anything. one of my customers got stopped in his bmw for 2 bald tyres. copper tried doing him for both so he changed the spare infront of the copper and all he could do is fine him for one bald tyre!

Just what I was thinking. I mean you watch them wear down day after day. Surely once they get a bit thin you just swap them.

The tyre is the only contact between you and the road so its not really a waste of police time if your tyres are baldy.
