i was wandering how far your car can be lowered before insurance have to be told because i heard it was 25mm, true or false??

you can go as low as you want so long as you put a kit on that is made for your car.....i.e. if your car is a Polo mark 3 1.3....buy a kit for your car

But better way is to paint the suspension kit (shocks & springs) BLACK and don't tell insurence company

Also be aware that the lower you go with you car, the more likely it will fail MOT.....due to tyres touching inner arch or bodywork....also theres a grey area in MOT's that they may fail it for being to low......but not many MOT stations will......

After i MOTed my last Scirocco, they told me it was to low cos the sump hit ground going over the brake testing rollers & when it was up on the ramp two of the mechnics had to push the car up to get the jack under the sump.......if they were having a bizzy day they probably would have failed it

ye i know and i will, but i was thinking about putting g40 springs on to lower it 25mm but wandering if i would have to declare it or if it would push up my insurnce costs

technically.. yes...

In reality.. you would probably get away with it,

however if its noticed in the event of an accident your insurance could be declared null and void and you will face legal action directly from the other parties involved.

Tbh.. its not a bad idea to get rid of that jacked up look.. and it will probably look pretty standard.. or like it SHOULD look...

Not that i encourage this kinda thing, but it would be "quite easy for a garage to accidentally order the wrong springs when they replaced them" if you see what i mean.....
