Insurance/Write off's

Featured Replies

Hello, Just wondering if anyone could help me,by put my mind at rest,

Its just that i have my car up 4 sale.Well did

And on monday a T**T,pulled out without looking and said he took a risk??And guess what i was coming the other way :crybaby:

All i seen before me was a yellow car and all of a sudden both airbags appeared,it was the worse ever experience i have ever had!!canny scary to say the least!!! :paranoid:

The front end didnt seem to be as bad as i expected??gril, bonnet, fog lights, side panels doors and the window had cracked??

I was just wondering how much the insurance company would repair before they say its a write off??

Its just either way I'm going to lose out on the car??

Cheers Chris

Sorry to hear about that! awful experiences...well it depends on the extent of the damage and how much it would cost to repair, if its not as much as the cars worth then it won't be a write off.

Ring the insurance company up and get some advice if you havnt done already

if the repairs cost more than the car is worth they will right it off

but if they say its not worth it all the hassle to repair but is repairable do it yourself and cancel claim i did

Generally, it's 2/3rds the value of the car, depending on what's been damaged.

yeah on older cars (5 Years +) it tends to be if the repair is more that 60% of the value of the car then they will write it off. All depend on the insurance company and the inspector though!
