Tempory car insurance?

Featured Replies

Might have to insure a car for a week or 2...

My policy wont let me add a temp car on worth more than the current car.

So are there any companies who will insure it for a week or 2?

Are ebay still doing their weeks free insurance offer when you buy a car from there? Does this apply only to the actual car bought from ebay?

Errr, yeah.

No I don't think they're doing it anymore, it was with Norwich Union.

I know there's a company called day insure that do short term, but think you have to be 21.

Yeah, they're still doing it, I tried it the other day to pick up my Coupe S.

You ring the "special" 0870 number, get put through on a really crap line to a call centre in India, where you spend 15 minutes trying to spell your name to someone who really isn't bothered. They'll stick you on hold for 5 minutes, ask you to spell your name 3 more times, sticking you on hold for 5 minutes each time, then tell you the computer's playing up and to ring back in an hour.

When you do, repeat the above steps.

Get pissed off, go to dayinsure.com, and pay them £30 for 3 days, and find it's Norwich Union underwriting it all anyway.

Bastards!

Thats really cool, althought it does say the car cannot be modified.

What sort of cover is this though, just 3rd party?

Something in the back of my mind says it's comp, but that might just be because I'm getting old, and either they give me more cover, or alzheimers is setting in.

I used the ebay insurance to pick up the lupo last weekend.

seems like a good deal. all free. although not sure how much it would cost you if you crashed into someone else :retard:

...as mentioned above
