Insuring a R6

Featured Replies

I am thinking about buying a yzf-r6 and am wondering how much the insurane will be.

I am 19 and currently have 1 years NCB.

Wondering if it might be worth me wating till i am 20 with 2 years NCB.

How much you reckon it will be?

Sorry, but can´t think of any other reaction.

Shouldnt be too bad

a matey at college had an r6 at 18 with no no claims,

obv its got to be restricted down to 33bhp, ;)

just had a quote,

1200 TPFT when i've got 2 years NCB (march)

which isnt too bad.

i'll just wait till then

personaly i would wait, i was paying less than £300 last year (19 then 20 now) for my old triumph daytona, would eat an r6 for breakfast too,

r6 arent as fast as people think, it very unusable power that only comes into play over 8k revs, not my idea of fun anyway, its either flat out everywhere or not at all

but handle like a bison on an ice rink! - 595 and 955, where as an R6 will dance around it (providing you're above 8k as stated!)

try H&R and riders choice for good quotes

but handle like a bison on an ice rink! - 595 and 955,

not ridden or owner one then? 955's and the speed triple both handle beautifly when they have the right size tyres on, easy knee down bikes and easy to chuck on the back wheels too

coming up at £950 with 1 YNCB!!!!

pleased with that so thanks!

Tom
