well i've only recently gotten the third amp but when my stereo was tested a year ago with 2 amps it was measured at 138.6 decibels, with the bass turned full down for sound quality, so i would imagin it would probably b about the 145-150db mark nowadays! :-D

Mate your system must be fuckin loud. I'm running a infinity REF-7541A - 4-channel. With some alpine spr components. And a JL audio W1 sub, and i think my system is bangin...

All my mirrors and windows shake like hell.... i couldnt put up with anymore bass lol

Cheers

yeah, i sometimes have to remove the interior rear view mirror because it rattles so much!

I've had too renew all of the outside mirror setup because the old ones rattled too much, and because of the rattling the driverside mirror glass actually cracked into 2 pieces! :?

thats about £900 worth when new of stereo equipment! :-D well happy with it, but still considering going for the new 3000watt (peak) 1500 watt rms!!! Pioneer SPL level subs!

and i've just bought a set of JBL tweeters and crossovers tonight for the front! replace the standard ones! 8-)

3000watt PEAK ??? thats nothing! probably like 500wrms in real life..

my single DVC sub runs at 1500w RMS (pure power none of the peak shit) in a custom tuned and ported enclosure :) just my amp costs £400 ;)

surely with 2 subs in the boot them 6x9s will break eventually.

nope! they are 3000 watts peak, 1500 watts RMS, dual voice coil!

http://caraudiosecurity.com/shop/product/p...ts_id/3823.html

heres a link to them! quite nice! 8-)

and no, the 6x9s are more than capable of handling the air pressure changes, its not as if the boot is airtight, quite a lot of air is moved around the edges of the parcel shelf! plus i have the 6x9s wired up to amps, with the frequency crossover turned so that the 6x9s are only recieving treble, so the woofers are completely free moving! :-D

the box that the subs are in is a unpartitioned box, so they are constantly givina a sharp powerul punch, as they are having to fight the presure changes in the box, and create a slight vacume behind them so they get drawn back better! (in theory) :?

where did you find 1500rms..

all i see is 1k nominal.

what you gonna be powering them from ??

I think your car actually looks pretty nice, if i were you i'd get some fairly large spacers on those wheels, they're tucked right away!

FOUR 6*9's :lol::lol::lol::lol:

oh shit!!! hahahaha!!! so they are! :wasted: my crap memory there!!! hahaha!!!

still, with two of them they would b more than capable of kicking out plenty of bass! 8-)

i was thinking about using them with this amp.....

what do you think?

i am thinking about gettin spacers, i just need to get the arches rolled first! then il get measurements for spacers! only problem is that i have to go over 1/4 of a mile of track road to my house!! so I'm limited with what i can do (suspension, spacer wise) :x

yeh! I've done everything on the car myself!

Absolutely no chance. sealed enclosure with that sort of power off those amps to those subs- 141db absolute MAXMIUM. To be honest I find 138.6 slightly difficlult to beleive as well? what was that measured using? an epicentre? audiocontrol old mic? Termlab?

Your estimate puts your system approximately 4-10 times as loud by putting up the volume!!!!! Not a chance that would happen.

Will go bloody loud if built right. will also sounds bloomin horrible!!

I'm more of an SQ person but each to their own. Those subs are SPL foccused 1.2KW a piece in a ported enclosure (although I doubt you will get the right box volume in the boot of a polo) could see you hit 147-149ish i would guess.

those were just the figures i was given!!! i dont know what it was they used to measure the Db, but i can remember that it was a handheld unit which he held infront of the head unit and took a peak and an average measurement! but i can only remember the peak! :x damn crappy memory!

I'm also into my SQ too, but i would verge on sayin I'm more SQL! i've just replaced the front tweeters with JBL ones (and crossover too) i would only go fot those subs if i decided to remove the back seats, which probably wont happen until i get another car! (lol and this is meant to be my every day car!) plus i have a mk2 polo 1.3 squareback, which I'm going to transform into a full track day car!

well youve done a mint job i love the feeling of satisfaction afta youve finished a project nowt beta i wreckon! the instals mint love it.keep up the cush work
