best breakdown recovery for 1991 polo cl

Featured Replies

so any ideas as to the best place to try ...I have looked at a tescos policy on line and it appears that they don't do vehicles over 16 years of age ...Angela von Polo comes of age on 2nd Feb 07 so will be 16 part way into a policy

Direct Line were apologetic but could do nowt suggested Green Flag ...I have had five callouts in the last year three basically attributable to head gasket which won't be going again lol ....and two more re steering wheel lock assembly which has also been replaced

So who do the rest of you on here use for your teenage vehicles ...and I bet she will need nowt this year or next after all she has had so far

thanks in anticipation Fiona xx

ps we are in rural Scotland Moray to be exact so want one that will come out pronto

well I went with the RAC and they seem to have given me 25% off for my club polo membership .....paying £11.90 a month for the full monty which covers me and husband for any vehicle driven/passenger in as well ....it was more than 2/3 cheaper than the Direct Line Greenflag one ....Oh for a mate who's a mechanic ...and I recall the days of shared RAC cards lol ...but me and my mate both have teenage vehicles and we'd ownly argue especially cos she drives a piece of french crap

RAC or AA always come up cheapest for me.

As for being able to fix it yourself, when my Mk2 broke down, fixing it wasn't the problem (detached fuel hose), the problem was that I was on a dual carriageway, going over a bridge on a let hand bend. All I could do was get on what little paving there was to the nearside and sit there hoping the 70+mph traffic coming onto the bridge, seeing me and dodging around me didn't hit me. No way to open the passenger door as the railings were there. No way to open the driver's door without traffic taking it off.

Had it not been for my breakdown cover, I'd probably still be there now.
