I've just bought a VR6 and it came with no Tax, but my GTi is now sat on my drive with 4 months left on it. I know it's possible to transfer tax from one to the other but how do i go about it?

Anyone know?! Do i have to physically take the tax disk to the post office, or can i do it online?

yeah I think you need to take your old tax disk to the post office and get a form to get a refund. you'll also need to declare that car SORN. they wont refund for part months that have been used.

then to take the tax out for your new car, I think you'll need the new v5c (or part that you retain if it works in the same way as the old v5 forms) together with an MOT and insurance certificate for your new car

Yeah, i thought that i could just transfer the tax over, but that would just be tooooo easy.

I cant be bothered going for a refund before the end of the month, not driving the VR6 until next month (no point in buying septembers tax now is there!), and the ngetting the tax on the VR6. I'll just keep the tax on my GTi, drive that til next week, then tax the VR6 and have both cars taxed. pfft.
