What happens after been flashed??

Featured Replies

Basically got flashed speeding by a GATSO

I know i shouldn't of been speeding and i am not gunna put up how fast i was going even though i didn't think i was going the speed i was flashed at but suppose everyone says that

But i was wondering what happens now, My letter notifying me just came through today

Do i have to send this back or what happens next???

Is there a guide on points and fines depending on how fast you were going???

Cheers

Hey Dougie,

Hope this helps....

Offence | Fine | Costs | Penalty Points |

up to 15mph over the posted limit - £44 - £30 - 3

16mph to 25mph over the posted limit - £45-£100 - £30 - 4

26mph to 35mph over the posted limit - £45-£200 - £30 - 5 - 6

36mph or more over the posted limit - £67-£300 - £30 - Ban 1 month to 12 months

Limit | Fixed Penalty | Summons|

20 mph - 25 mph - 35 mph

30 mph - 35 mph - 50 mph

40 mph - 46 mph - 66 mph

50 mph - 57 mph - 76 mph

60 mph - 68 mph - 86 mph

70 mph - 79 mph - 96 mph

So up to 79mph you should be just told off, 79-95mph is a fixed penalty and 96mph+ is a mandatory summons to appear in court.

who said i was on the motorway

Urm... know one.... :ninja:

You know what I think about speed cameras.

If they are making this massive proffit, then they are not successful, because people are speeding and that is what they are there to stop.

Might as well have those bins you throw money into at the end of blackpool iluminations.

You send the form off saying it was you driving then you will get one of either three things in return;

A caution,

Provisional offer of a speed awareness course,

Fine and 3 points.

Speed awareness course is around £85, and very informative, although I was fortunate enough to be off college anyway when I attended it.
