gt insurance, is this right???

Featured Replies

I've just been looking at quotes for my gt, I'm 18, no ncb, live in a safe area, 1800 fully comp on a gt, i pay at the moment 1600 on a 1.3 cl, when i passed no one would insure me on a gt, why now? and so cheap?

I'm with direct line on my 1.3 cl, that quote i had was with endleigh, seems ok, if i cancel my insurance with direct line now would i get the money i paid back?

I'm not sure, you'd have to phone up. I'm presuming you used the internet online quote system for the Endsleigh one? If not it seems good.. if not, I wouldn't switch until I was 100% sure I would be getting that price, I've used the Endsleigh quote system before for a G40, one minute its showing 1200 and the next 2900, and they were both TPFT.

il double check again then!!! they did seem ok though beens though in=m a young driver

i was with direct line and cancelled 4 months into policy you dont get any money back and they took an extra £50 from me for now finishing the year

You didnt get any money back?! Get them rung up.

My GT costs me 1300 a year on my own TPFT, think it was 1500 fully comp. I'm 18 with no NCB, and i started the policy when i was 17! Check LIverpool Victoria out man there mega cheap.

Oh and i tried More Than the other day, and because i'm 18 they'll insure me TPFT for £900!

I am 19 and I am paying 613 with 0 years NCB on my 1.0 Polo. It is TPFT but fully comp. was only about 40 quid more. No point in fully comp as my car cost me 70 quid as a temp. form of travel. This is with Bell Insurance. They were far cheaper than anywhere else for me, and my mate who has an '06 Fiesta ST.

I got quoted 18 1 Yr NCB on a GT £880.

Give quinn direct a ring

I'm 18 an lookin to get insurance in my own name- was insured for a year as a second driver- and the cheapest quote i got on a GT was 1000 TPFT in my own name without an ncb, was with an alarm an immobiliser an whatnot but i didnt think it was too bad...

i spent 2 days on to every insurance company for my 91 gt I'm 20 with ncb! started my own policy £745 with bell part of admiral fully comp i put my mum and dad on that as well incase they need to use i the most expensive i think was £1600 and think that was quinn direct the only people i didnt try was a specialist vw insurer

i'm 20, been driving 3 years and have no ncb.. and i just got insured on a gt fully comp with my dad on the policy for £577 on elephant £1600 sounds ridiculous! considering the price of a mk 3 polo!

1600 is ALOT of money for insurance. I'm going to try and avoid ever paying more than 3 figures for a fully comp policey. Anything more seems a little silly... well unless I had a seriously expensive car.

Could have managed £830 on a 2.2 Astra. Had quotes of sub £400 on a Mk2 Coupe S...about £800 for a Lupo GTi and even that is a lot of money!

I'm 20, 2years ncb and I pay 900 :( shit area though :D

This year, i used confused.com (found it not alot of good) so used, moenysupermarket.com like confused but it found me a policy with bell for a good price.

Car: 06 Seat Ibiza FR TDi PD130 - Mods: Rear wheel spacers - declared

Age: 22

NCB: 1

10 month policy so i can get NCB up again after a crash yr n half ago where i wrote off a 11k ibiza oops.

Bell are part of admiral group, but even then it was cheaper and admiral was my previous insurer.

Admiral wanted £1000 and bell did it for £750, inc class one business insrance which i need for my work + courtacy car under any condition.

Location: village and drived

10k / Yr.

Its swings and roundabouts, bell wanted to up my premium by £260 for example for a remap taking me to 165bhp.

Some are good for mods, some are best if your standard (ish).

Hope it helps,

Matt

(P.s when i was 18 i had a modded mk2 polo 1.3 parade (which i still have - planning to mot n sell) that was about £1300 with tesco with mk1 gti brakes, gmax -40mm drop etc etc...)
