tax.

Featured Replies

hi all.

Got my mitts on a Mk3 GT breadvan. need to tax it.

have insurance docs have/will have MOT, but don't have the V5 in my name, as i have just bought it, it is still in the previous owner's name.

i don't have 6 weeks to wait, i need this on the road ASAP.

so can i go to my P.O. with all docs, and just blag the tax? or is there any way i can get a V5 in my name quicker than the 6 weeks it takes the DVLA?

cheers.

I think they (peopel you got it from) are supposed to give you a small slip called a 'New Keeper Supplement'.

this should be enough to get you tax.

thats how I got my road tax sorted before the docs came through.

I take it you don't have the tax reminder form? If you do then you don't need to take a V5 with you.

otherwise, yeah you can you the new keepers receipt thingy you should have.

I have bought two cars this month and the V5 came through on the Monday after one week waiting.

If you haven't got the small green slip thing then just be patient and wait to get on the road :) I know how annoying it is.

Oh, make sure the sellers have posted the V5 as well! If not keep ringing them!
