Points on my license

Featured Replies

Hi i just got 3 points on my license. Do i have to tell my insurance company? Also will it increase my premium?

I cant believe it i was going 34mph in a 30 the road was totally clear

The mobile police can was parked practically on someones drive so wasnt visable until you have been clocked.

I'm so pissed off i cant believe i have to pay £60 and get points.

Do they detect the small mobile ones? .. or just the big stationary ones? I nearly got caught off guard at night - there were a couple of policeman with one on a tripod last night.

How much did you pay for yours, might invest in one if they're a sensible price.

Yes they detect static ones and the mobile ones. I only paid £79 for it + £4.95 a month for the updates.

That sounds good, I will most probably get one, I presume you got yours from the Snooper website, cheers

Has it served you well?

Yes it is proving to be a vital bit of kit. Some people say they dont work, but provided you keep updating the unit then it will work. Mine does. My mrs bought me mine from Halfrauds, told her not to bother but she already got me it.

If you do get it then it is vital you keep updating, otherwise it will go off everytime you pass an elecy door etc....

same thing happened to me they were hiding in a drive way but i had to hold my hand up as i was going a little bit over the limit, they clocked me at 12 30 i was suprised they were even out at that time.

Surely by the time the unit has picked up the laser signal, it's already too late?

Although they are useful for static cameras.

They work by picking up the frequencies that the lasors emmit, which opens out as it travels towards you. usually a few hundred yards before the speed trap is it sets off the warning giving you time to reduce your speed or be aware of how fast you are travelling.

your insuance company will be aware of the points any way i would have thought?

any ways it will put ypur premium up, quite alot if you are a younger driver

Yes, you have to inform thoem, though normally it won't have a price impact until renewal.
