get some 6x9s too!

the sub is a mixture of a Resonant Engineering HC Basket and XXX coils/spider/cone so it is easily capable of taking 2kilowatts RMS. its getting about 1500wrms @1ohm at the moment (750wrms per coil) and is enough, on full whack to set off about 10 car alarms on one floor of a multi-story car park 8-) obviosuly as I'm leaving!

please tell me you're joking with the 6x9 comment... if you're not can i have permission to stab you in the face for such a stupid suggestion!

What you chattin foxie, get some of them cad value 6*9's!!! Make it better for the people in the back, help the sound imaging and all that!! May i suggest these.....

In fact, just sell your sub and amp, and just buy 50 of those 6*9's, run em off the HU!!!!

would be louder, more speakers innit!!!

Your car looks wicked by the way, in some of those pics i think some small front spacers might be a good idea?

I'm getting 3mm ones as theres like 0.00002mm clearance of the calipers lol

erm....... no!

you need to have some top end to give a clarity that the sub just isn't capable of giving!!! :p

you my friend are an idiot.

what do you think the front speakers/amp do? sit there and look pretty ? you obviously have NO CLUE on this subject so i suggest you do some reading. try here: http://www.clubpolo.co.uk/forum/index.php?showtopic=19592 oh look... posted by me...

i can almost guarantee you 6x9s on my parcel shelf wont last very long due to the sheer amount of air that sub produces.. it will push the cones away from their surrounds in no time.

Theres no doubt about it dreleask, foxie's right, so :p

i have a section for my car in the member section! i think its under "Drew mk4 6n" or something like that!

that has all the details of my system! the measurement of my sound system was done at the once a year local event called "The Unst Thrash" (only legal event that happens up here in shetland) in which they used a proffesional meter thing, and since then i have upgraded all of the 6x9s and gotten a new JL amp for 1 set of the 6x9s. it was measured at 138.6Db, i can't remember what the average sound level was at though! :-( but i still came fourth then! :-D and that was out of about 20-30 cars!!! 8-)

no way in hell is you are system nearly 140-150db!!! a 3db gain is double the volume.... you say you got a score of 138.6Db - at what frequency was that measured ? the pic of your system is comedy also.

we can carry this over to another thread if you wish.. better yet. post your system with your scores and how u think it could be near 140-150db with the bass turned up on www.talkaudio.co.uk :) see you on there ?? post me the link to the thread u make

I'm not on that website!

I'm saying my stereo is about 138.6 Db! i know how the Db metering works!! i know that it isn't anywhere near 150Db! i only wish it was that loud! that was the peak measurement! i dont know what the frequency was! we were given a CD with a song on it which they used to measure the level at a certain point on the song!

Its not how it looks, its how loud it is that counts!!! as if the look of yours is any better, i mean come on, you have random holes cut in your parcel shelf!!! i have all of my system hidden away whilst driving! i have taken and stretchd black cloth over the parcel shelf so that the 6x9s are hidden!

well if you knew anything youd be on the website!!!

and as if them holes on my shelf are by choice! they came with the car as they had speakers in originally.

thats fair enough then! i just dont feel like i need to join a website to feel that i know a lot about sound systems! i know plenty of peolpe in my area who know a lot about systems, so if i ever have a question, i ask them!
