I have got 2 cars.

The tax is up on one of them but I am going to be selling it.

If I park it on a drive and just let the tax expire will I receive a fine?

Or do I have to declare it as SORN and then the new owner owner tax/un-sorn it?

If the tax runs out on the 31st do I ring them tomorrow and get is SORN from the 1st of december or ring up on the 31st?

When I delcared my Derby as SORN they sent me out a reminder to tax my car. I just ticked the SORN box and then took it to the post office. They scanned it and stuck a receipt on it and its all been fine since.

Just fill the form in and stick it in the post. Job done.

I declared mine SORN a few weeks before the due date by doing the form online using the code on the reg. documents.
