I used a company mentioned in the Paperwork forum on this site - I think it was dayinsure.com. Very convenient, insured myself on father-in-law's car for a day trip to France - it's all done online, and they email the insurance cover note to you.

I used the same when I picked the coupe up.

Norwich Union do 1 day insurance for about £10.50 too

are there age restrictions on these, like I'm 18 could i insure my dads bmw for a day?

i can get insured on my metro for like £8 a day...

With direxct line you have to be 21 for a 1 day policy.

or if you have an annual policy with them you can insure another car for 2 weeks for just £10 on your policy :)

I used dayinsure.com, its run by norwich union and there don't seem to be many restrictions on usage. I didn't see an age restriction and I think it can be used on any car under £40,000 value.

I think you must be 21 to use day insure and have held your license at least 1 year.
