MK3 Polo Coupe. 1.3Cl

Bought this car off my work colleague as a very standard CL with more rust than I was happy with.

She had no tax, 167,500 miles on her clock, but 10 mths MOT.

In the time i have had her, I have "rattled canned" every panel bar the roof, to get rid of the dredded steel worm. I realise its not the best way to do it, but hopefully the Mrs has got me a compressor for christmas, so stay tuned for a colour change next year.

Engine

The first thing I did to her was to convince myself that she was road worthy, as in the past 12 mths she had only covered 200 miles. So after giving her a full service, she was up and running no problem.

Interior

I have fitted a full Corrado interior, well front seats and back bench with armrest, which if i say so myself was a idiot of a job. In the process of fitting the armrest securely, and figuring out where the seat belt mounts are going to go

There was no parcel shelf so I have sourced one of them, and thanks to Heartagram she now has GT clocks.

I have also sourced a GT steering wheel, which is also far better than the crap one that came with it.

Exterior

As mentioned earlier, every panel bar the roof has been resprayed, but its only a matter of time

I had previously fitted a full GT/G40 arch and sill kit, but I'm in the process of removing the bump strips, and I have a MK2 GT kit to fit. :p

The alloys are Corrado Estorils, which over the next couple of months I hope to have mirror polished.

I have 3/4 the bumpers and fitted the red trim, shes also running pressed german plates.

I have also removed the badges and filled the hole in the boot.

Mk4 8v front splitter

ICE

Sony tape deck from my old MK3 Golf.

No plans to upgrade. (27, and kid on the way, so no need to attract the honies, if that what your excuse for it is )

Future Plans

Get my arse into my cold cold garage, and get the MK2 kit bastardised.

Full respray in new colour next year, fit the Chineese door handles I have (cheers Robin), and the new Cat as the old one has disintegrated into the silencer. Oh and to lower it! photo lowered by ps

Will get more photos after I have got the new bits fitted and the mk2 kit on. Might get some interior shots when thats done.

As for running, really good mpg compared to the Lupo suprisingly, the exhaust isnt as loud as i thought, probably because it has standard tip size on. But as mentioned the cat has disintegrated and bits of it are rattling around, like milk bottles chinking on idol
