Hi i have about £1500 worth of audio and video in my car. My car is worth about £1300 if it gets nicked will my insurance company cover it? Also if the car was written off in a crash is it covered.

Also if i do let my insurance company about the audio will they bump my insurance up??

I am really paranoid about my HU as its a pioneer avic x1r the navigation one to those who dont know. I know its a car thiefs gem.. They are worth about £600 second hand and are easy to flog on.

If i tint my windows will it act as a deterant or just attract more attention to my car as it looks like i am trying to hide somethig? Any ex car theifs on here? If so do tiinted windows put u off?

Normally, the ICE value is capped. Off hand, I think it's £350 on my Polo's policy, but it varies from company to company. Even then, your excess will be a bit of a chunk off that.

The best thing you can do is conceal your install as much as possible, and don't ride around locally with it pumping out.

I have tinted windows...personally I think it attracts thieves.Knobs.

I saw something once saying the best way to try and prevent thieves is to hide the imrpotant stuff, speakers, radio, etc... open your glove compartment (Making sure it's empty) that way the thief knows there is fuck all in the car and won't do it over unless they're really special

another thing about thieves..their jealous bastards..my mate had a soob and they cudnt get in so they just scratched it up.

tinted windows i found are good for covering ice but it's more about you being sensible

invest in a good alarm
