Is it possible to find out who the registered keeper of a vehicle is from the likes of the DVLA if you know the registration plate?

wouldn't have thought so due to the data protection act. But saying that clampers and like can find out the owner details from the DVLA for a fee.

It might be possible if you went through the fee paying enquiries department, though I doubt they would allow you to have the details, unless there was a strong reason behind it.

I had to go through this department to retrieve the engine number from the donor car for my GT transplant as the V5C had been sent back to the DVLA decalring the vehicle as scrap, the engine number on the block had worn off, and the donor cars data sticker in the boot wasn't present. There is a £5 charge for the data to be looked up.

It's possible, I looked into recently, because there's a mint G40 owned by an old lady near me that I wouldn't mind getting my hands on.

Easiest way is if you know someone who works for an insurance company, get them to look it up, or get a V888 form from the DVLA that was what I was told anyway.

If you want to make a vehicle enquiry its either £2.50 or £5 to the DVLA

I have done it with a landr over 1969 series2. Send £5 to the DVLA asking the address of all previous keepers. Send Reg no. and chassis number aswell. I got every single owners address (address of the owner where they lived with landy, not current assress if you get me). Got it from 1969 all the way up to the last owner, Found out some very interesting facts about, found out its first colour.
