hey all

got shunted by a car today which knoked me into the car infront

the guy that caused the crash is an epeleptic and looks dubious that he has insurance

if he does am i ok?

if he doesnt whatl happen?? also am i liable for the car i hit as a result of the crash??

any help would be much appreciated

I'm no expert I'm just trying to work out how you ended up in the back of the car infront.

but were you in a carpark or sitting in traffic., it sounds like you were sitting in traffic.

now if you were i assume you saw him comeing in at speed and let the brake off as to do less damage to your car. in that case i dont think you would be liable as you tryed to limet the damage to yourself and other cars. this assumes you were following the tyres and tarmac rule ( not many people do you must be able to see atleast the 2 rear tyres of the car infront and atleast 12" of tarmac.) in this case you would have made minimum damage to any cars you hit or getting hit by.

best thing to do is to call your isurance company and inform them as to what has happened and also give them the registration plates of the 2 cars involved.

call or speak to the person who you hit and get him to do the same after calling your insurance company and letting them know the situation. and try and find the insurance details of the car who caused the accident and inform your insurance company the name of his. it doent matter so much about that it just helps the claim along faster. as when and old woman wrote my car off ( drove into me) she couldent remember who she was insured with so she give me her name address and phone number i forwarded it to the insurance company along with the car details and they tracked it using there database ( the same one the police use)

my sister has epilepsy and as far as i am aware they are not allowed to drive unless they have been seen to control it with medication. and only after 12 or som months of no seizures then they can drive i think..
