the insurance company will tell you that you need to inform them of everything thats been altered from standard spec. having said that the last two probably wont put your premium up

I dunno though - it may count as exterior decorative changes. I'm 18 on a provisional, 0NCB and flexibell want an extra £60 for 'interior and exterior decorative changes' which includes debadge grille, clear side repeaters, and anything i do to the interior.

And they won't replace the mods in the event of a claim! Bastards.

I insured the Golf as a classic for the first year on the road. The company, Chaucer, allowed me £1500 of visual mods, incuding lowering and alloys, without the requirement to inform them. The insurance was £160, but then I'm a little bit older then you lot.

It's best to just ring them up and ask, some companys have different views on things like lights etc.

Its being insured for my dad, whos in his late 40s, but the car is only 17 years old so classic insurace might be pushing it. Most companies take cars over 25 dont they?

Some will accept it as a classic if it's 15 years or older...
