Right I'm just wondering about this as it's something I'm not too sure on.

I will phone the DVLA, but thought I'd ask on here first.

My car reg comes as Y*** HAN.

So obviously if there is a Hannah out there she may quite like my plate.

But how do I go about selling my one up and getting my car a new plate? Whether it be personal to me or not.

If I swap if for a personalised one I'd probably brake even money wise, if not, is there a chance I could make a profit?

just put it on retention and they will issue you a new number.

look on the dvla website

you have to pay i think £80 then £25 a year or something.

I did it with my old plate.

They do it all for you! You see a plate on the site you like, ding them up, and their sort it all out, your plate will vanish unless you dont want it to then you can put it on rentention, then just get your new one on the car! Its simple really!
