insurance quotes

Featured Replies

My insurance runs out in april so have been lookin around to get a general idea of how much the insurance will be on my own third party fire and theft with pass plus. Currently I'm with my dad did this fo rthe first year while i was learning.

So have been scrolling around and the cheapest quote on a 1.05 mark 3 M registration was £1400, which i thought was very steep? This is through quinn direct. Who i have found to be the cheapest most of the time.

Just wondering if anyone got a better deal?

Once again apologies if a re-post/ or general feleing sorry for myself just expected it to be closer to £1200 that £1400 as i know people with bigger engies etc with same stats as me but cheaper insurance.

thank you.

insurance is different for everyone, I'm using prudential, found them to be the cheapest for me.

I'm with tesco TPFT 0 NCB 22YO by myself and its cost me £650

I'm with quin

800 quid tpft 1.0 polo mk5 0 ncb 19

It depends on where you live as much as anything. At my parents house where I used to live (edge of nowhere) I was looking at £850ish 19yo 0NCB, in Birmingham I pay £1100 the lowest I could get (with Elephant). Some companies literally doubled the quote just by changing the address.

I'm paying £1480 on my mk4 1.3. 18yo, 0NCB, 6points, and 2claims. Lancaster Insurance, this is my second year with them

can u drive? lol

There isnt much point anyone saying to you 'oh its cheap fromt his or that place' becasue insurance is based upon many many diffrent factors, including the area you live in.

Your best bet is try:

Confused.com

moneysupermarket.com

EZI Insurance

also if you have a modified car try ecarinsurance, because for some reason if you have a modified car they seem to be a lot cheaper.

Anyway all the 3 sites will give your lots of quotes all in 1 go, so from that you will be able to get more of an idea of how much is it going to cost you.

Also try adding your dad as a second driver to the policy, it sometimes helps a lot if you have an older experianced driver on your policy

Fnx, yes i can. I got my first 3points on my scooter coz my "L" plate had fallen off and other 3 for speeding. 1st accident was last winter wen i just slipped into another car, cudnt really prevent that as i was going slow anyway and my 2nd accident was a Golf that went into me so not my fault but it is a claim!

Do a quote on confused, then have a ring round. "Is that your best price?" "xxx have quoted me £yyyy can you beat that?"

And when you quote your best price, knock £100 off as well, if they say 'we can't beat that see what they can beat.

Try flexibell, you can remove parts of the policy eg EU breakdown cover to make it cheaper.

I'm 18 on a provisional, gona pay £1650 on a mk3 1.3cl.

Adding the parents saved £500, adding mum's two SP30's added £160 haha. Also it has alloys and so is 'modified' the bastards.

Good luck!

ah ok then, thanks for the advice and that will start gicing that a go these next few days. and the £1400 is without declaring mods.

thank yous,

If you can't insure it - don't mod it.

The laest browsing has given me this:

Tesco insurance: £1,496.25

elephant: £2203.15

Ezi top 5: kwik fit!! £1,455.48

quinn £1,590.27

zenith £1,659.71

post office £1,752.07

supermarket insurance £1,769.97

moneysupermarket.com was the same as above

confused.com top 5: quinn £1431.24

admiral £1853.50

endsleigh £1888.00

budget £1962.96

yesinsurance.co.uk £1962.96

More than gave me £1230 but i had to say i was 18, but i will be 18 when i renew it.

The above is painfully expensive d'oh.

But will not get ripped off by these white collar theives, so going to keep looking and calling, submitting etc.
