i dont own a g40 but i would imagine - as with any car - that insurance would vary dramatically depending on age, mods, location, convictions etc!

I'm 23, 1 year NCB good area, Standard G40 TPFT

Thank you for requesting an insurance quotation from Adrian Flux Insurance, the UK's top specialist motor broker. From the details provided we can provisionally offer a price of £370.00.

Thats how it came on on the phone as well.

goose if you are 18 like your profile says don't expect any figures less than 4 figures.

Aye, i'm 19. My GT is about £600 standard £690 with everything declared and a standard G40 was over 1k.

I was paying £1400. If you are 18 expect to get a spanking.

This will make you guys laugh.....I have 10 years no claims (yes I know do the maths...passed test as soon as I could) & on the G, with all mods declared & RR certificate for the BHP £400 fully comp + protected no claims.

To put this in perspective we also have a '01 Polo Gti....fully comp £500

Also Mk2 Golf Gti 8v £280

In short.....G's = Group 16 insurance = BIG premiums

GRoup 15..but yes..BIG premiums!

well count yourself lucky non of u live in ni my cheapest quote on g40 was 3rd party at 760 trust me this is cheapest in ni and i am 25 other places even adrian flux were pants

I have a van too for my cycle shop and a gt polo so i have taken out a part time traders deals at 1300 per year now i can drive any car any group under £5000 in value with out even calling the company and iam covered great

i pay 600 quid, thats tpft in my mothers name with full no claims bonus on the policy. i have no idea how you lucky bastards are getting quotes in your own names for 3-4 hundred quids and the like!!!

I'm 23 too. my house is in a high risk area though.

At 18 alot of companies will tell you they won't insure you till your 19. Thats what I found anyway.

Brentacre did me a good deal though. Even though I only had 2 year ncb. £900 with any mods I like aslong as I don't get more than 120bhp from the engine. So thats any cosmetic, chassis, brake mods etc I like with no rise in premium. They just ask that I let them know. Very friendly and if there not busy will end up chatting about cars to you for a while

That's a big factor; the area. I moved 2 years ago to where I am now, postcode changed and by simply moving 5 miles insurance went up by £110 per year!!!! The fact we actually had a garage didn't seem to matter

yeah insurance companies dont like insuring you on group 13/14 upwards til you are 19, and some until you are 21

I'm building a G40 and I'm 18 and I'm going to be insuring it properly when its finished but thats because I'm stupid and will probably be about 30 when its finished

That seems extremely cheap! I live 5 miles up the road in between Blackburn and Preston, I'm 22 with 5 yrs NCB and a 'standard' G40. I'm taking a policy out on the 14th of April and the cheapest I've seen is £680 on confused.com ??? Mind you though I haven't tried Adran Flux yet, in the past I've found them to be expensive.

I was well happy with it. Shocked me too.

Might have to give them a call then. Do you ever go to any meets round here IanG ?

Cheapest quote i have had on my own is £1286 tptf on a 1.0l mk3 and I'm 18. Whereas i done it through directline me as policy holder and my dad as a named (second driver) and got it at £1000 tpft
