Test driving cars before buying

Featured Replies

Everyone knows its a good idea to test drive a car before buying it. But what if the car has no Tax? Who is liable?

In my situation, i am selling a car that is SORN, but have buyers coming to look at it. If they test drive it and get pulled, am i liable? Should i say they cant test drive it and put off a potential buyer?! my driveway's not big enough to get up to speed on you see :-p

buy the tax yourself and increase the sale price

= selling point!!!!

does anybody know the answer cos id quite like to know aswell!

it will be the person driving it who is liable, but if its been sorned and the car isnt insured in your name, if the driver has third party insurance for other cars, thats likely to be invalid too......

..its a bit like speeding, its not who owns the car, its who is driving at the time of the offence that gets the fines and points.
