Asolutely.

I had changed all the suspension, front wheel bearings, top mounts and anything else mechanical that looked like it might fail, but other than that there was no preparation whatsoever!

Last night I decided 'I'm going to get it MOTed tomorrow', rang the garage, took it down and it was done :)

Another update!

This morning I decided I would have a look at fabbing up some mounts to fit the buckets in :D

So here we go:

Cut the feet of the old seat bottoms.

Weld onto the steel strips I had made in school:

Bolt onto the seat:

It fits!!:

I'm really pleased with myself now ;D

It looks like the seats are sloping forward, but they aren't. Strange.

Really nice car mate. If you dont mind me asking, as another youngster what's the insurance like on it?

Looking forward to seeing pics with the new wheels on.

Not sure as I haven't checked (i'm not 17 until February), but it wont be much less than a grand with the mods declared I shouldnt think!

Same dash as my S. Great saloon. Great hands. Not convinced by the chequered boot - or the fleece.

Well this will be returning to my ownership as of tomorrow night! Nick decided to sell and I couldn't resist... and my parents gave in and let me keep it on the drive.

Currently I'm thinking....

Remove chequers/stickers (:o I know!)

Fit the Coupe S rear seats.

Make the door cards black somehow.

Lower the front (either coilies or 80mm springs and topcaps).

Band those steelies.

Fit a Cherry bomb backbox.

Paint the rusty bits.

Slightly different approach :)

i want one !

i somehow want to make my doorcards black to. but then i was thinking about hunting down some coupe s door cards. (red/black ones) i think our cars will look very very similar soon, haha, I'm planning on lowering 80 and want red and black interior from a coupe s. and de side stripped

What can I say... good taste :p

She's safely home, in need of a t-cut and some back to black but overall much healthier than when she left me! Got a receipt for something like £400s worth of parts and labour!

Pictures tomorrow i think :)

would it not be possible to dye doorcards??? I have no idea but it was something that i myself was contemplating. The loon looks mint by the way. Never ever get rid of those seats either. Remember when you had a feeler for the sale of those..... big mistake that would have been :-) Looks great. Keep up the good work!!

  • Author

It probably would be.... but the material isnt in great condition to begin with.

Pics in a minute!
