jonPDpolo's Mk5 Tdi

Featured Replies

17.6 @ 75mph was my best attempt, not too bad considering the two GTi's I saw did these

GTi 1: 16.8 (Silver)

GTi 2: 17.1 and 17.6 (Silver with black lensos)

Either they can't drive or my car is actually quick!

Tdi's dont hang about tbh (for a 1.4 3 cylinder anyway).... is it mapped?

  • No mega updates on this again, though is likely to be making way for new project (another rocco ) Realised that most of picture links are broken for the most recent pics so here's a small selection

The castellets have now ended up on my scirocco as people will have seen from Edition

So Polo is back in winter mode, wearing 5mm spacers on the rear

Don't think the castellets are going back on the polo as they suit the scirocco better and the ATS Centras certainly won't suit the polo, so am in need of wheel ideas, did like the idea of Porsche 928 S2's but saw far too many of them at Edition...

Ideas?

Also, have decided its probably going a little lower, having seen some mk5's at Edition, through no coilovers if I can avoid it! Also at some point, interior needs redoing

I get about 50 to 60 but then again, I don't exactly drive that economically  I have seen 70mpg out of it on a long run (was doing 60 on motorways mind)

Just a quick update, a picture from this weekend in Wales with my mates (4 hours after the pic was taken, I was in that cloud! :-D)

Snowdonia?

Snowdonia?

Just up the road from Capel Curig :-D

Epic fun on the roads with the torque!

Aah know it well. Last year in that area climbed the north ridge of Tryfan, through Bristly Ridge and across the Glyders. Day after did Crib Goch and Snowdon itself but camped nearer Betws-y-Coed.

The cafe in Capel Curig does epic bacon baps and know what you mean about the roads, always seem to be full of bikers and Heddlu though unfortunately.

We were going to do Tryfan but ended up doing Carnedd Llellwyn and Carnedd Dyfed, then looping round to a 3rd which I can't remember

Roads weren't too bad on the way back, used the torque to blast past loads of people on the wider bits of the A5 near Shrewsbury :-D

Pretty happy with how its sitting tbh, low but still usuable! :-D

so you got it tracked, then lowered it again? crazy fooool lol

Only another 10mm or so, not massively i.e. enough to make a difference, drives exactly the same before and after I adjusted it, a mate on another forum was trying to get me to go to Nottingham and have -1.5 degrees set on each side as its best for road use

Had to stop him and say, its a daily diesel polo, I don't care, so long as it goes in a straight line when the steering wheel is straight and it doesn't catch, I'm happy as larry

Got to bring the passenger front down a quarter turn more to level it out but I'm still happy
