How much of a difference did the remap make?

And how did it feel compared to the GTI?

Quite a bit, gives about 30bhp and a fair bit of torque, down the 1/4 mile its only 0.5 seconds behind a GTi so it can move when it needs to

Never knew there were different tax bands?

I thought they were all just £30 a year.

Haven't found the specific one yet but the nearer to or in Scotland the better.

Just waiting on a cheque coming in the post that I'm due now.

Yeah there's two tax bands for the 6n2, W and X plate are pre-2001 so get taxed on the old system, Y and 51 plates are taxed on the new emissions guidelines from March 2001 and carry the cheaper option (£30 vs £115 on the old system)

Eurgh why is it so hard to decide on wheels? Had to knock off two options as they just won't fit (offset too low) and I'm not going to go mad trying to make them fit as this is my daily after all, got the rocco to be silly with :-D

So far, kinda got it narrowed down to

There were one or two others I liked but they looked a bit chavvy wouldn't mind some BBS RZ/RJ's but can't find any cheap enough...

I have a set of the bottom ones so don't get them j/k get want you want.

Top ones! Never seen those before.

Sort of moving towards the top ones but had almost decided on the bottom one's as they have better options (can get them 15x6.5 ET40 for the front and 15x7 ET28 for the back, nice bit of stance) whereas the top's are only 15x7 ET30, really don't know!

please tell me you will be filling them switch blanks with lots of actual switches though would look so much better with lots of factory accesories and gadgets

Might be holding off on wheels for this, gonna concentrate on the VR for a bit, get that bit further on, but after driving Harris' mk3 up the pod yesterday, I need a fast old polo, so this may become a towcar

Well, new year and not much to say for the burner yet, still hankering for a fast old polo but that will be the next project when I decide to get shot of my VR methinks

Only updates on this are, replaced wishbones/ball joints/drop links/track rod arms for new and sanded/painted the crossmember that was more orangey than Dale Winton

Wheel update too (thanks to the legend that is Mattnaz )

Should be on the car for Stanford Hall as going to SpringFest in the Rado :-D
