I just bought meself some new number plates from europl8tes on ebay, they look sweet. I got one white one yellow, with a blue GB band on the left. Only difference to normal ones is they're metal, and pressed in the german font. Spacing and everything is fine i think. I know i took the soft option compared to some peoples plates,the D seems to ask for trouble though.

Am i going to be okay driving round with these? I heard about some new numberplate laws or something, can anyone explain the details of it?

to be honest everyone has different opinions and experiences with pressed plates.

I've had mine on since last september and have not been pulled once for them,but other people i know get pulled monthly if not more often!!

it really does depends on the discression(sp) of the officer that pulls you over ,i always keep mine in the boot just in case,if they say anything just say you didnt know

mine have been fine since ED38 last year.. even got pulled over with them on and the copper liked the style of them... their auto plate reader read them fine because they knew my name before i even got out of the car!

i got pulled with mine on and with f1 style mirrors and still got nothing from it i was pulled for going round a bollard,so its up to you perosnally i would keep them on ,i have found tho that the police dont like plates with the number "0" because from most plate places there is a dashh missin in the top right,my mate has been pulled cus of that(p.s when is edition 38)

As far as I'm aware the new plate law will "at officers discretion" see a fixed penalty notice & now also 3 points on your licence.

I personally think it is to stop plates that are very badly spaced to make words. Also if their auto plate readers can't read them you'll be pulled imo.

i'd spend my money on something else really......a day out at sea-side springs to mind

i've not been pulled by the police for year's, chances are that if i put German style plates on i'll continue to be left alone, but i don't want to chance it

To be honest they're pretty harmless, the only real difference is the font - and the loop of the 'R' on it doesnt quite touch the vertical part. don't think il get too much shit about them.

IIRC they wont pass an MOT/you may get pulled if they arnt reflective, pretty sure i read that somewhere.
