Fitting Foglights from scratch

Featured Replies

Advice and instructions if possible please!

I want to get hold of some foglights to fit to the front grille of my 16v, however I have no idea where the wires would go to? Is there already provision for front foglights by use of the main light switch? I know that pulling it out switches the back one on, but no sure if it is designed for the front too?

Also, are there wires already laid out to the fuse box if you want front fogs? Or do you have to start from scratch?

Cheers in advance...

Hi,

There should be a diy guide up soon as me and pedro are trying to do it at the moment. You will need a loom from vag parts (or somewhere else) this will connect to the 2 lights, then one wire will connect to the battery negative, then the other wire connects to the back of the switch to pin 13 (i believe) but haven't done it yet but testing with a 12v tester shows that it is pin 13 for front fogs...

you will need an new switch though (with 2 step pull out) £50 from vw but you can get them cheap from ebay or the forsale section...

Fitting the actual lights means taking off the bumper and bolting them in (place to bolt to is already there) its easy

Pm me if you have any questions

hi, have you sort this out? I'm thinking of fitting aftermarket foglights, can you please tell me how to wire the back of the switch, as I can't find the diy guide yet?
