OK well, il be insuring my car @ the end of march this year (Like 2 weeks) To start my no claims on my own policy.

However, after afew months, I'm going to have to cancel the insurance, as il be buyin a 16v polo.

So upto the point i cancel il have 4months (roughly) of no claims driving, leaving me with 8 months of no claim driving till i reach 1 year, wich is the lowest ammount on insurance sites. So if i cancel my insurance and then take out a new policy what happens to my few months of no claims driving i had? Do i have to restart with 0 months, and wait a ful 12months till i get my 1years no claims?... OR do i carry on from the 4months i already had? leaving me with just 8months of no claim driving till i get my 1 year?

no...from what i know you lose that 4 months, why not transfer the insurance policy to the new car?

this happened to me, my insurance company cancelled my policy with about 2-3 months left, and lost 1years NCB..wankers.

Yeah i spoke to a mate and he suggested i do the same thing too. Cheers mate.

If you cancel the policy you will lose the 4 months and have to start over.

Providing the quotes ok on your new motor just change the policy details.
