I thought 14 days to let you know that you were caught and the summons should also be in that period

No i got the notification that i was caught speeding almost stright away but i thought they had 6 months to give me a court summons

Anyway i recieved it today 6months and 2 days after the offence

So rung the court and she says the magistrate will look at the date of summons which of course is probably back dated to 05/04/07

i know its my fault for speeding but bit unfair as really i have been served the summons after the 6months

download that book mate it will help :)

Right i chatted some shit, forget that...

If the court received a summons calling you to a court hearing within 6months, then you have to go to court. If they also received the paperwork after 6months then it is no longer valid.
