Parked on white zig zags 60£ fine and maybe 3 points!

Featured Replies

Hi

Today i quickly parked on some zig zag white lines outside a shop to run in and get something, i didnt realise this was such a serious offence, thought it was just a matter of a traffic warden etc. but low and behold i returned to my car to find two community support traffic officers giving me an endorsable offence and fixed penalty ticket of £60. They said its up to the magistrates but i could get 3 points.

I didnt give them any bullshit excuse just pleaded with them etc saying i honestly didnt realise etc.

I think I'm going to appeal it...

any suggestions?

any advice?

also...

what i really want to know is how these 3 points are going to affect me. I'm 17 and i know that within two years if you get 6 points you get banned and have to retake your test.

are these points different from speeding and dangerous driving because they are for a parking offence?

How will this affect my insurance next year? Please help, any advice would be great!

why the need for TWO threads ???

u will just get a fine,

but it is a big offence as no doubt there was a crossing or important junction where you parked.

how are you so sure i will only get a fine.

who decides whether i get the points and when does that happen?

You will prob get a letter from the cps with thier decision, then you can either plead guilty via letter or go to court to plead not guikty.

Yup 6 points in your first 2 years and its retake thoery and test. So u better hope you dont get the points, or if you do you dont get anymore now.

Also your defence may fall apart on the fact you didn't know becuase its in the highway code, and your supposed to know what lines on roads mean before you pass

I dont see how you can appeal it to be honest, you were parked on white zig-zags, which is an offence.

In the old days, white zig-zags used to eat your car if you parked on them. or so i saw on the tellybox.
