Hi,

My passenger side electric window on '95 Polo slid off its runners the other week, and just today as I went to put the window back up again - it decided not to respond..

Just fixed it by sticking it back on the runners again, and temporarily unplugged the switch to stop meddling passengers

But is there any reason why it would do this? My friend fixed it the first time round, maybe he didn't make a good job of it? Either way, the runners only seem to have a couple of "prongs" holding the window up, it feels as though there should be more to it.

Am I missing a part? Or is something else the cause?

I have exactly the same problem on my passenger side window. It lasts about 3 days then i have to take the card off and 'place' it back on the runner.. Looks like there should be some sort of clip?

I'll check my other side, as that seems to work fine, to see how it all works :)

May get a chance tomorrow, did you have a look and find anything of interest?

Maybe time for an insulating tape bodge up - hehe.

i had this in my polo it was dropped down 120mm on coils tho and rode really hard basically there is like 4 plastic clips that the window sits in at the bottom and these had snapped

Same problem with mine, made a temporary fix by wedging the gap with some cardboard, hasn't fallen off the rail in about 6 months but the cardboard now squeaks with the vibration of my music and is driving me crazy:lol:

Looks like the only way to completely fix it is to get a new mechanism because the clip i think is on the runner and not on the window clamp I don't see why they can't make things properly in the first place

Same problem, the little plastic clips snapped so found some spare plastic and cut it to size. Then with my trusty friend "Super Glue" (that stuff really is super) i stuck it back together, hasnt fallen off its runners since but i still wont close the door with the window open!!!

same problem on mine, well kind of, except mine are "keep fit" windows, the little plastic clip keeps popping out of the runner. does my head in. and now i cant be arsed to take off the door card, so its staying stiff

Mines just done this, Gonna wip the card off 2nite and have a butchers! Anytips for what to use?

Yep just looka roudn in your tool box for screws or what ever you can find, just screw them in :)

Reet, mine is the rear end plastic clip that goes onto the metal bit of the window doesnt stay clipped on! after a few ups and downs it comes off! So I got out the superglue, stuck it on left it for ages and its all gravy!!
